  I've known AJ for about 8 years and he is truly a consummate musician. He can play pretty much any instrument with strings on it, and several without. He's a very good composer and arranger, and has a strong understanding of many genres of music.
  
  AJ is the most modern music teacher I have met. He teaches a lot of younger students and he really understands how to make what he teaches relevant to them and their interests. He makes use of technological teaching aids to make it easier and keep them engaged.
  
  His website slogan is definitely true; he will teach you what you want to learn, and he does not inject his tastes or ego into the equation. Plus, as both a classical musician and a modern music producer, he has an appreciation for all types of music.
  
  He's very dedicated to his students and I have seen him go to great lengths to transcribe pieces for his students to play. He will not just transcribe a piece verbatim, but will actually tailor the piece to the student's current ability, and then work with them to level up. This allows the student to play music that he or she is interested in from the very beginning, learning theory and practical performance skills along the way.
  
  Seriously, you will become a better musician just from being around this guy.

  I've been taking ukulele lessons from AJ for going on five years, and it's something I look forward to every week. He's great at coming up with challenging and engaging arrangements for the songs that I want to work on, so I'm always learning new techniques. I would encourage anyone thinking about taking lessons to go for it, you'll be amazed at the progress you can make with a great teacher!
